How is the Article 370 resolution Historical?Omkar DattatrayOne is at a loss to understand how is the passage of the resolution asking the GOI to hold a dialogue inconnection with the reinstatement of the abrogated 370 historical. CM Omar Abdullah said that theresolution seeking the restoration of special status and its passage by the first assembly of the UT ofJammu and Kashmir is historic .May one remind Abdullah that their NC government in 2002 had passeda resolution favoring autonomy for Jammu and Kashmir in the then assembly of the erstwhile state onlyto see it to be consigned to the dustbin by the central government .And the present resolution asking forthe restoration of special status to Jammu and Kashmir will also be rejected outrightly by the NDAgovernment headed by the BJP and Modi .The current resolution will also find place in the dustbin .Thearticle 370 of the constitution had been buried forever by the Modi government in 2019 and thusensured the full integration of J&K with Indian union .The BJP/NDA government had fulfilled the dreamof national leader and Jansung ideologue Lt.Dr Shyama Prasad Mukerjee who had sacrificed his preciouslife for the full integration of J&K with India.PM Modi has reiterated that no power on earth can restorearticle 370 in the constitution .Article 370 and by virtue of it the special status to Jammu and Kashmir isa history and the clock cannot be turned back and the river of Jhelum cannot also be turned back and soArticle 370 cannot be reviewed.NC government has the habit of passing resolutions only to hoodwinkthe gullible masses and to divert the attention of the people from pressing needs .In the present case ofpassing of a resolution seeking a dialogue with the centre government is nothing beyond dirty politics toappease the core constituency of the NC .By passing the resolution special status resolution in theassembly ,NC tried to hoodwink the gullible masses and also gave the impression to the people of JKread Kashmir that it and the NC –Congress coalition government is serious about revival andreinstatement of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir .The legislative assembly of J&K has no powerand authority to review abrogate Article 370.In fact the revival and restoration of annulled article 370 isthe prerogative ,privilege and power of the centre government and the Indian Parliament which hadabrogated controversial article 370 constitutionally ,legally and lawfully and its restoration lies with thecentral government .No central government and more so the nationalistic NDA government headed byBJP’s Narendra Modi will give back the article 370 to J &K .NC ,PDP ,Congress, PC,CPIM and others areliving in a fool’s paradise if they think that the article 370 can be revived .Such thinking of these politicalparties and their leaders is akin to seeing Mungarilal Ke Sawpane. Therefore it is better for the Omargovernment to focus on addressing the pressing demands and issues of the people of Jammu andKashmir .The top priorities of the new democratic government should be the provision of good roads, schools ,hospitals ,housing, uninterrupted electricity especially in Kashmir region as the winter is fastapproaching .Besides ,good and hygienic drinking water ,control of rising and soaring prices of the dailyuse goods and services and last but not the least provision of employment opportunities to theeducated and employed youth should also the immediate and top priority of the new government .Ispandemonium ,continuous ruckus, marshalling of the opposition MLA’s and fists and quarrels as well astotal indiscipline ,chaos and confusion the signs and symbols of the historic happenings of the legislativeassembly .Opposition and in the present case the BJP has the democratic right to oppose the functioning
