JKCA honours Ranji Trophy cricketers for outstanding performances 

JAMMU, Nov 16: The Sub Committee Members of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) including Brig Anil Gupta, Member Administration and Mr Mithun Manhas, Member Cricket Operations and Development honoured a galaxy of current Ranji Trophy cricketers for their outstanding show in the ongoing season.

The cricketers who were honoured included skipper Paras Dogra, Shubham Khajuria, Abdul Samad, Abid Mushtaq, Auqib Nabi and Yudhvir Singh.

Paras Dogra was honoured for holding the record for the most hundreds among the active Ranji Trophy batters and for being ranked 3rd in all time top scorers in Ranji Trophy and second highest run scorer in the history of Ranji Trophy.

Shubham Khajuria was felicitated for scoring 255 runs against Maharashtra and setting a record of being the highest individual scorer from J&K in the Ranji Trophy.

Abdul Samad was honoured for setting a record in Ranji Trophy  of scoring first five centuries in much lesser than 100 balls, with 

1st century in 63 balls, 

second in 68 balls

3rd in 68 balls, 4th in 71 balls and 5th in 78 balls. Only  his sixth century Samad scored in more than 100 balls.

Samad was awarded for being the first J&K batter to score a century in each innings of the Ranji Trophy match against Odisha at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. 

Abid Mushtaq was awarded for completing 100 wickets in First Class Cricket in the match against  Meghalaya at MCA Cricket Ground, Polo Ground, Shillong.

Auqib Nabi was honoured for taking record five 5-wicket hauls in 4 matches in First Class Tournament.

Meanwhile, Shubham Khajuria and Yudhvir Singh were awarded with the Player of the Match awards which were not received by them during the post match presentation of their respective matches. 

Later-on, Brig Gupta and Mr Manhas presented mementoes to these awardees as a token of appreciation for their landmark achievements.

The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Ms Manisha Gupta.
