Bharat Bhushan inspects seven Water Supply Schemes in Block Bhalwal

Modi Govt committed to provide Har Ghar Nal Se Jal

Jammu, Nov 20: In a major step towards ensuring sustainable drinking water supply in rural areas, Bharat Bhushan Bodhi, District Development Council (DDC) Chairman, today visited seven ongoing water supply schemes in Block Bhalwal. These schemes, worth Rs 60 crore, are part of the Central government’s initiative to provide clean and reliable drinking water to every household in the region under the “Har Ghar Nal Se Jal” mission.

While inspecting the progress of these schemes, the DDC Chairman said that these schemes being implemented under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) aim to improve the water supply infrastructure and provide piped water to rural households. These projects are set to be completed by March 31, 2025, and will address the drinking water needs of the area for the next 50 years, he added.
The schemes being inspected include critical projects in areas such as Assarwan, Kangar Bhalwal, Dhar Darocha, Nadwal, Tera Kelly, and Old Gharota. Engineers from the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department accompanied the Chairman on the tour, providing updates on the progress of each project.
He stated, “Our commitment to providing tap water to every household is unwavering. The Har Ghar Nal Se Jal initiative will ensure that every family in rural Jammu has access to clean and safe drinking water, which is a basic human right. These schemes will not only meet current needs but also cater to the water supply requirements for the next five decades.”

The DDC Chairman further emphasized the importance of these projects in improving the quality of life for rural communities, reducing waterborne diseases, and enhancing the overall health of the population. “The completion of these water supply schemes will transform the lives of thousands of families, ensuring they have uninterrupted access to potable water, which is essential for their well-being,” he added.

Bharat Bhushan Bodhi also praised the Modi government for its focus on addressing the issues faced by rural India. He highlighted the significant investments being made in rural infrastructure, particularly in the water and sanitation sectors. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has made substantial strides in bridging the developmental gap between urban and rural areas. The Jal Jeevan Mission is one such transformative initiative that has brought clean drinking water to millions of homes across the country,” he said.
