Jammu, November 9, 2024 – Today marked the 20th day of Movement Kalki’s ongoing protest demanding the recognition of the cow as the “National Mother Cow.” This day coincided with the auspicious festival of Gopashtami, celebrated with special prayers and events. The program, held at Amphalla Chowk, witnessed the participation of prominent members of the Sant Samaj, leaders of the Brahmin Sabha, members of Movement Kalki, and a large gathering of devotees.
On this sacred day of Gopashtami, religious leaders conducted a satsang (spiritual discourse), emphasizing the importance of cow protection. Members of Movement Kalki and the assembled devotees joined together in worship, performing aarti (ritual prayer) and serving cows. The entire gathering pledged to protect and honor the cow as a national symbol.
The event featured several special guests, including Mahant Jasmer Jangam Ji (from Samadhi Mandir Baba Krishna Giri Ji, Vivekananda Chowk), Brahmin Sabha President Ved Prakash Sharma along with his wife, Baba Ramesh Jangam, Mahant Jyoti Prakash Ji (from Radha Krishna Temple, Roop Nagar), Baba Khandeshwar Ji, and Mission State Board President Sunil Temple. All saints present expressed their appreciation for Movement Kalki’s initiative and pledged their support for the cause of granting cows the status of National Mother Cow.
Key Movement Kalki members present at the event included Maharaj Thakur Arjun Singh, Sanjeev Dubey, Vikram Mahajan, Rohit Bajrangi, Pawan Narang, Dr. Sudesh Kumar, Suresh Kumar, Advocate Someshwar Kohli, Sourav, and Sunny Kaphai. They voiced their commitment to the movement and expressed their determination to continue this mission until the demand is met.
Movement Kalki leaders reaffirmed that the protest would continue until cows receive the status of National Mother Cow and stringent laws for cow protection are enacted. They called on all devotees and people from all walks of life to take an active role in supporting cow protection. The organization also announced plans to intensify the movement in the coming days, organizing special events with the support of various religious and social groups to pressurize the government.
