The BJP has ruled Jammu and Kashmir for long ten years both directly and indirectly with a promise to provide a transparent and corruption free government.
At the time of downgrading J&K to a Union Territory the Parliament was told by the Government that the UT will be made corruption free under the direct rule of the Union Government but conversely to it happened on the ground.
The revenue department of Jammu and Kashmir is considered to be the most corrupt where Patwaris rule the roost. The Patwari is happens to be Class III employee who cannot even run his house smoothly under the present circumstances where inflation is at its peak. But there are many instances where Patwaris were caught red handed by the anti-corruption bodies to curb the same but it has least impact on the majority.
Such an example has surfaced where a Patwari who is presently posted as Patwari in one of the prime Patwar Halqa of Jammu district is constructing a multi-crore ‘Mansion’ at Deeli opposite Greater Kailash. If sources are to be believed the land on which this ‘Mansion’ is being built runs into crores itself. The sources further divulged that the father of this Patwari has also retired as a Tehsildar and was trapped by the vigilance department during his service. He was sentenced to jail by the anti-corruption court and was later bailed out by the High Court matter of which is still sub-judice.
This is how the corrupts have flourished in all these years without a check on them. This Patwari and his father has accumulated huge benami properties in and around Jammu. As now a popular government has been established in Jammu and Kashmir let us hope that such corrupts will be shown their place.
